Outreach Training Programs

The OFPC Outreach Training Programs consist of courses that are taught:

  • locally, with emergency response personnel trained annually by state fire instructors, municipal training officers, and county fire instructors. Allocating and scheduling fire training activities is conducted by the County Fire Coordinator; and
  • regionally, with emergency response personnel trained annually by full-time OFPC fire protection specialists.

Course: Fire Officer I (NFPA 1021-2014 ed.) OR "MODULES"

Lead Instructors: SFI Denny and SFI Griffiths

Location: Stanford Heights Fire Department - Station 1

Date/Time: 7-10PM 

                   January: 6, 9, 15, 22, 27, 29

                    February: 3, 5, 10, 12, 17, 18, 24, 27

                    March: 2, 5, 11, 17, 23, 25, 31

Prerequisites: BEFO (or equivalent) - OR - IFO (or equivalent)

Signed, NYS Training Authorization Letter is required and must be submitted at first class.


Course: NYS Traffic Incident Management System (TIMS)

Lead Instructor: SFI Beardsley

Locations: Rotterdam Junction Fire Department

Date/Time: March 28, 2020 8AM - 4PM


Course: Hazardous Materials First Responder Operations ANNUAL REFRESHER

Instructor: SFI Persons

Location: Scotia Fire Department

Date/Time: March 30, 2020 6-10PM


Course: Principles of Instruction

Lead Instructor: SFI Lingenfelter

Location: Niskayuna Fire Distict #1, Balltown Road Station

Dates/Times: March 10, 12 and 19 (6-10PM)

                        March 24 (7-10PM)

Course: FAST

Location: Rotterdam Training Center

Dates/Times: March 26 & 31: April 2 & 4, 2020 7:00PM (weeknights) 8:00am (Saturday)
