Schenectady County Announces the 2019-2020 County Initiative Arts and Tourism Grant Program
Anthony Jasenski, Chairman of the Schenectady County Legislature, is pleased to announce the continuation of the County Initiative Arts Grant Program (CIP) for 2019-2020. Dedicated hotel/motel occupancy funds will be distributed to local organizations in support of activities in historic preservation, the performing, visual, and literary arts, or programs promoting County tourism.
“The Schenectady County Legislature is proud to once again support local organizations through our County Initiative Program,” said Chair Jasenski. “Thanks to our growing tourism industry, the Legislature in 2019 will award $60,000 in funding to support many worthy organizations that continue to make Schenectady County a great place to live, raise a family, and visit over and over again.”
Organizations serving the Schenectady County community may apply. Potential applicants should be aware of the following guidelines:
- Proposed projects must take place between April 1, 2019 and March 31, 2020, allowing the County to offer year-round support to worthy organizations.
- The application deadline is January 31, 2019.
- Additional consideration will be given to those organizations who demonstrate collaboration with other Schenectady County nonprofit organizations to complete the project.
- Additional consideration will be given to projects that are proposed as part of an existing or proposed Schenectady County Special Event.
