Schenectady County Human Resources and Civil Service provides ongoing career opportunities for employment with Schenectady County. Schenectady County values a high performing, diverse workforce. The County employs 1,100 full-time and hundreds of part-time employees.

Schenectady County One Stop Career Center
The Schenectady County One Stop Career Center is located at 797 Broadway. Schenectady County One-Stop Career Center offers many services for individuals seeking employment assistance. The vision of the One Stop Career Center is to be a universally accessible Workforce Development system that meets the needs of job seekers and employers and supports economic growth by providing enhanced employment opportunities for people and a quality workforce for business.
Whether this be helping build a resume, writing a cover letter, update a professional job search profile (i.e. linkedin), or assisting with finding a career match, we are here to help!
Additionally, the One Stop Career Center has a computer lab where patrons are able to work on developing their resumes, brush up on interview skills, and learn how to write a convincing cover letter that will land you in your next career! This includes Schenectady County Job Counselors, New York State Department of Labor Job Counselors, and representatives from the Capital District Transportation Authority.
Some of the services our One-Stop Center provides includes Washington Irving GED Classes; Job Corp Orientation; OTDA Job Program Job Counseling; Education Opportunity Center provide information/ training screening on training opportunities; SUNY Career Counseling (resume prep) and Access-VR provides orientation for individuals with disabilities for career resources. The Schenectady Community Action Program (SCAP) provides job recruitment assistance; The Schenectady County Probation Department provides former offender workshops on workforce re-entry.
