Fire Safety Improvement Grants

The Schenectady County Legislature created a $50,000 Schenectady County Fire Service Improvement Grant Fund in 2017.    This purpose of the funding is to enhance the fire protection capabilities of the fire departments outside the City of Schenectady.  The Schenectady County Legislature recognizes the impact that the magnitude and number of unusual storms and natural disasters have had on the resources of our fire companies.

Any of the twenty-two fire companies or group of these fire companies outside the City of Schenectady that serve Schenectady County can submit an application under this grant program.

Applicants must use the official application form.    Additional copies are available from the Schenectady County Fire Coordinator.

Grant Proposal Due Date
Grant proposals are due by 4 pm on July 14, 2017
