The Schenectady County Purchasing Department is responsible for the procurement of goods and services that make County Government work.
Schenectady County purchases a vast array of products and services. Schenectady County Joins Empire State Purchasing Group
Schenectady County has joined the Empire State Purchasing Group (ESPG), an online procurement system that provides vendors with an easier and more economical way to access and compete for government bids. Schenectady County will now post online County invitations to bid, informal quotes, requests for proposals, construction notices, addenda and awards.
The ESPG is comprised of local governments and agencies throughout New York State including the City of Schenectady and several local school districts. The group utilizes a centralized registration system that provides vendors with a single point of contact and broad access to new business opportunities throughout the region. The system will save both Schenectady County and vendors time and money by streamlining the entire bidding process and provide increased transparency. There is no charge to register or obtain formal bid documents. ESPG does offer an automatic email or fax notification option and the ability to view and submit online quotes for a small annual fee.
